Tour, Interrupted

A bright spot for the tour came on Friday 7/22/11 at The First Niagara Pavilion in Pittsburgh, Pa. with the unscheduled playing of the hometown band Anti-Flag. They filled the void of the missing bands Paramore and Against Me, and because of the admiration from their peers all the touring bands stood by for the show.

Anti-Flag played an amazing set, they opened with "Press Corps" and played many of their well known songs from previous released albums. During the final song, "Power to the Peaceful", the drummer {Pat Thetic}, passed his drum set down, piece by piece, to the center of the mosh pit, set it up, and played the rest of the song from the center of the crowd.

This years surprise has been Larry and His Flask, with rave reviews from all who listen. Based out of Oregon and touring their first Warped tour this year. The energy of this band is contagious, the music is a work in progress with many influences ranging from fast string picking, old-school country, and punk..all blended to make them as unique as the group themselves. It's suggested that the "All that We Know" album is a chance to hear them at their best.

Along the same lines as Larry and His Flask, across the venue at one of the bigger stages, Lucero took the stage at 5:45. Due to a sudden down pour {or "side" pour as some describe it}, fans that normally would not have attended their show were pulled together to take advantage of the covered seats. Lucero played to a packed house, pretty much the entire Tour attenders, and it was later said by the bass player that it was the largest crowd they had played for so far on this tour. Even so, everyone loved the show and cheered them on, they became100's of new fans for this strong band.

With a new album release this year Unwritten Law has brought themselves back to the forefront. They are an amazing band, giving a great show on the tour this year. The bass player, Derek Envy, brought his A-Game. Between his bass whips and the bands high energy they got the crowd on their feet. Unwritten Law will leave the tour soon to make an already scheduled tour in China.

The Tour is winding down and will conclude it's march around the country on August 14th at Washington County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro, Oregon. Many of the bands have projects already scheduled for the rest of this year so keep up with your favorites thru their tweets or Face Books, the news never stops coming.
